Kawasaki Ki-61-II Kai "Hien" (Tony) by Jean Barby

This is my latest work. The model is the RS Ki-61-II Kai from RS in 1/48 with the Brengun photoetch and a Falcon canopy. It depicts one of the few of those models which reached the front line in July '45. The 56th Sentai being the only unit known to have used this fighter. The camo is in yellow green#7, a shade close to US Olive Drab which could fade in many different spectrums.

    Beautiful work! (The Ki-61-II is one of my favorites.) How was the RS kit to work with?

    Very nice work. In regards to the latest model contest there was a what-if "Ki-61-IV" with a 4 bladed propeller and bubble canopy I saw once on a modeling forum. I wonder if anyone else has done that...

    Maybe what you saw was the mpm kit of the Kawasaki ki.64 Rob, it does have a bubbletop canopy and a 4 blabe propeller.
