F...Thank you for the comments, I appreciate them!
For the rigging wires on the wings, tail, and wingtip floats I used .010 steel wire. On the center float I used .015 steel wire. All of the holes needed to be located and drilled. The kit does not provide any information regarding this. Arawasi International Extra #2 is a valuable resource for this as it provides 1/48 scale drawings, profiles, and amazing photos that I used to locate the rigging locations. The kit does not provide any fairings for the rigging as well. I used resin tear drops from a Classic Airframes Walrus and while not technically correct, they give the impression of an aerodynamic fairing. All of the support struts are very fragile and are easily broken. My lower wings suffered from stress cracks that appeared about a week after I glued the lower wings to the fuselage. The model tried my patience a few times, which is partly the reason for the long build time.
I hope these hints help you out with your kit.

MikeMichael Furrynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8160546163844864803.post-48272850918748306642020-05-19T14:09:06.726+09:002020-05-19T14:09:06.726+09:00Beautiful! I have the same kit, so I was very interested to see how you handled some areas. What did you use for the wires between the wings, since in real life they had a flattened airfoil section? I seem to remember that scale "flat" section wire was available at one time, but don't know the source.
Fantastic work!D.
