Clearly, the pilot was far outside the normal size for a wartime Japanese pilot. To have him standing, he would be north of 6'2" and although the recreation flightsuit is accurate, the sheer size of the mannequin would look somewhat cartoonish. In the world of compromise that is museum life, we did what we could to give the best possible presentation. We get far more compliments on it than complaints. I hope this helps.
