SWORD from Czech has just released a Kawasaki Ki-102b Otsu (Randy) in 1/72!!!
All I can say is WOW!!! What a brilliant subject!!!
The only other Randy kits I know of are the old Pavla in the same scale, Raccoon (resin) and Sanger (vacuformed) in 1/48.
So a big congrats to SWORD!!!
Here are some photos of the kit from their site, here.
And in their coming-soon section they have announced a Ki-102a Ko (Randy) in the same scale. How cool is that!!!
So, guys, what Japanese aircraft (you know what I'm talking about...no modern jet planes ok?) kit would you die to see released or even re-released?

Just received one KI-102 kit. It seems a very good model and indeed a fine japanese subject. I am tempted to build it up right now but a....Hayabusa is on the work bench and maybe an Eduard photetched fret is just round the corner....
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a new Jake in 1/72 scale is much needed - I would also add a new Val kit...Mr. Airfix! where are you? Although the lack of Ki-57/MC-20 and Ki-54 kits represent an inexplicable vacuum.
Cheers
Danilo
I still have old Pavla kit, just can't start it for some reason.

ReplyDeleteGreetings everyone,
ReplyDeleteBeen following this blog for a while now but finally thought I'd share my ideas on this one.
1. Nakajima G8N1 "Renzan" (New 1/72 or 1/48)
2. Nakajima G5N1 "Shinzan" (1/72 or 1/48)
3. Kyushu Q1W1 "Tokai" (1/48)
4. Aichi E11A1 (1/48)
5. Mitsubishi Ki-83 (1/48)
If I could list a 6th or 7th, it would be a Kawanishi H6K (New 1/72 or 1/48) and a Kawanishi H8K2/3 (1/48).
Also, Sword has already made a 1/72 J2M5/6 and having the kit, I can say so far that it's a pretty nice kit in my opinion.
Regards,
Alex.

George, is there a reason you speak only of sending the list to Hasegawa?
ReplyDeleteI could imagine them producing some of the kits listed; but for others I would say "no way".
However, I could imagine Fujimi taking an interest in several of these. Maybe send them the list too?
