Peter Starkings
Peter Starkings is no longer with us. Our good old friend passed away yesterday at the age of 95.
Peter will be missed a lot.
This year did not start well...

Very sad to hear of Peter's passing. My condolences to his family. We have lost a lot of good people the past few years - Henry Sakaida, Jim Lansdale, David Aiken, Bob Piper, and now Mr. Starkings.
Many of us in this community of enthusiasts are of the immediate post-WWII generation, having been young children during that conflict or born shortly after. Now the inexorable march of time and mortality has now begun to take it's toll on us.
This begs the question: How do we pass on our knowledge and passion to the next generation?
Yes, we are at an age when great people are leaving. We can only hope that my generation can understand and learn at least a little. I don't know if we have what it takes, but we will try.
My condolences to the Starkings family and to those who knew Peter. This generation is passing on and sadly, this will become more, not less, common...
Very sorry to hear of Peter's passing. A lovely chap with a great knowledge of Japanese aviation. I will be forever thankful for his work with the UK Japanese Aviation Special Interest Group. My sincere condolences to his friends and family.
