Another photo today from a vintage magazine dated February 16, 1944, taken purportedly in Papua/New Guinea.
Unfortunately, it seems the wartime censor has removed the tail marking, if there ever was one, and so it's rather difficult to tell which unit it belonged to.

Thank you for this run of Lilys. Very interesting.
Next to perfect profile shot and a very nice take-off scene on top.
Take note of the Radio Operator-Gunner and Gunner visible in the greenhouse.
Many photos published decades ago are lost in time. It's nice to see them resurface.
The Ki-48 has been disregarded far too long despite being used throughout the war wherever the IJAAS fought. Even FAOW, now exceeding 200 issues in its second generation, has passed over it so far.
...Ki-49 is pretty ignored as well! However many thanks to George for this series about Lily. Very interesting
208th Sentai, I guess. Two-digit code was erased, typical for 208th Sentai Lilys deployed to New Guinea. The code is partially visible on the nose behind the prop.
