Nakajima A6M2-N "Rufe" by JanVoorbij

Nakajima A6M2-N Type 2, recce plane and fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy, 934th Kokutai, based at Halong seaplane base, Ambon Island, Dutch East Indies, September 1943 (Hasegawa - No. AP153 - 1:72).
The fuel truck is an Isuzu TX-40, like the "Rufe", from another Hasegawa kit. The same goes for the personnel and the oil drums.

A very attractive built Jan Voorbij- but a have some doubt concerning the decal of the 934 Ku.
I've seen a color drawing of the A6M2N with a yellow P6-5(xx)? code. In Mr Abe's book The Imperial Navy
Air Groups in the Southwest Pacific Theatre is a pict' of an A6M2-N with a unit number-red outlined with white- 34-135,so the "9" was omitted. May be George knows more of the 934Ku markings.

Thanks for your coments guys. Jacob, I have my doubts too. I was told that the unit on Ambon Island had yellow markings/numbers on the tails. Could not find anything that could confirm that in my reference material.

Keep in mind that through-out the war the IJN changed tail code numbers, letters and tail code colors. So there is not always one answer. Also, drawings are not always accurate.

Several sources say this was done to confuse the enemy.
