"Toraware no Nihonki" #8

This last set in the series, features photos from the Aireview and Arawasi collection of some of the aircraft we found transported by the three aircraft carriers once in the States. For those seeking more information about the fate of these planes, serial numbers etc check this page.

A very interesting series. Sadly, many of these planes were destined for the scrap yard. However there are some very rare examples that are now cared for at various museums. I do believe there is a Ki-61 replica being built to fly, although I don't know the status on this.

I don't believe I've seen the Tokai in US markings in flight before; great photo.
