Roscoe Turner IPMS Contest 2020

Roscoe Turner IPMS, Indianapolis, Indiana held its annual contest on March 7th, 2020. Compared to other contests I have attended in the past, this one seemed to have more Japanese subjects on display. The highlight of the show was the 1/72 Hasegawa Emily on a scratch built seaplane tender.
Thank you to Roscoe Turner IPMS for a great event.

Great model show! Thanks Mike and George. I like the Beech and the Emily + Tender the most.

Jeff Groves, a very talented modeler and a fan of Arawasi, has full details of the Akitsushima build on his blog, here: https://inchhighguy.wordpress.com/2018/12/28/ijn-seaplane-tender-akitsushima-%e7%a7%8b%e6%b4%a5%e6%b4%b2-1-72-scale-scratchbuilt-pictures-1-of-3/
On the right side of the page, Recent Posts link to more of Jeff's work, IJN & JAAF aircraft included.
A few years ago, Jeff posted this image https://inchhighguy.files.wordpress.com/2018/12/airfixkitboxtop2.jpg?w=1100 on the 72nd scale aircraft m/b. I and several other became very excited; until we saw that his post was dated April 1st. Best April Fool prank EVER. Jeff then proceeded to scratchbuild this beautiful model.

The H8K and tender is amazing! I agree, a real high point. I also like the Beech 18, and the little A5M, which was well done. I also find the the A6M2, with the green camouflage added, interesting.
