Kawanishi E7K "Alf" in Action! - video

When the Battle of Hong Kong began on December 8, 1941, the bulk of the attacking force was the Japanese Army's 38th Division. However, the Imperial Japanese Navy played an integral supporting role.

Today’s video showcases the Kawanishi E7K2 "Alf" from the light cruiser Isuzu being launched to assist a naval landing party raised from Isuzu herself. Isuzu landed a company of 85 men on December 20 1941 which helped occupy Kowloon, as "Austin" explained.

Combinedfleet.com also mentions: On 9 December 1941, after 0900, the Kawanishi E7K2 "Alf" reconnaissance floatplane from ISUZU strikes the river gunboat CICALA, which is patrolling near Brothers Point, releasing two 60-kg bombs; both fail to hit. 

While not seen in the video, Akimoto states that Isuzu's "Alf" seaplane displayed a blue tail marking of "UI-" during that time.

Print Scale (not famous for their accuracy) has released a decal set dedicated to the "Alf". It includes decals for the seaplane seen in the video but unfortunately the artwork shows an E7K1 with the liquid-cooled inline engine, whereas the seaplane in the video is a E7K2 with a Mitsubishi Zuisei 11 radial engine. Bummer! But I guess the decals ares still useful. What do you think of the camouflage? Does it look in the video to be a two-tone brown/green as depicted in the decal set or a solid green?
