Go Modelling 2014 - Pt. 2

In "Go Modelling 2014" there was a special table reserved for five very nice models of Japanese planes in 1/32. 

An excellent Zoukei Mura Kyushu J7W "Shinden" by Bernhard Tomaschitz.

The three very cool models below, the Kawasaki Ki-45 "Toryu", the Mitsubishi A6M and the "Shinden" were all made of paper.

The model which won the prize (sponsored by Arawasi) for the "Best Japanese Aircraft Model" of the show was a very accurate and beautiful Special Hobby Mitsubishi A5M "Claude" built by Mr. Walter Gagawczuk of IPMS Austria.

 

Go Modelling 2014 - Pt. 1

We are back from Vienna, Austria after a most enjoyable week and a much needed 15-hour straight stupor. Arawasi was invited to participate in the "Go Modelling 2014" event organised by IPMS Austria. The 2-day show took place in the incredible Heeresgeschichtliches Museum (Museum of Military History) and with model participants from many countries including Hungary, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Czech and more. The main modelling subject this year was "all-things-Japanese" and there was a large number of really beautiful Japanese airplanes, ships, tanks, cars and bikes as well as figures, fantasy subjects and dioramas.

As usual we took a lot of photos and we will present them on this blog split into groups.

Before that we would like to extend our warmest gratitude and heartfelt thank you to the president Mr. Reinhardt Pohl and all members of IPMS Austria as well as our good friends Bernhard Tomaschitz, Verena Wirnig and Vladar Reiko for all their help, support and amazing hospitality. 

 

The Arawasi table(s) introduced artwork by Japanese illustrators and manga artists complemented by samples from our very good friend and world renowned illustrator Zygmunt Szeremeta.

About the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka model.
The kit is from Fine Molds in 1/48. Very pleasant model to work. I worked on the cockpit interior a little. I made a seat for the pilot, seat belts, controls, detailed the control stick and a power set. I used available materials: plastic, wire, metal scraps. For the fuselage and the wings, I opened air intakes, rescribed and added panels made of plastic.
My main references were vintage and museum photos.
The interior is painted - Vallejo 71010 (interior green)

The model demanded a little time.  I think some weeks... 

Worked on it for fun spending time in-between other projects.
Unfortunately I didn't photograph process of work. Only the end result))).
