Japanese Aircraft Online Model Contest 010 - ALLAN JEFFERY

This is my Hasegawa 1:32nd and 1:48th  "George". OOB, painted with Mr Color acrylics through an Iwata hp-c airbrush. As Hasegawa provided options for showing the combat flaps in the open position, I chose to model them so, despite them not deployed on the ground.

Thanks Allan. In 1/32 I would have liked more details like an open cowling and cannon wells but overall they both look very nice. 8 & 8

Nice work! The way the flash is hitting the models makes it difficult to asses the true quality of the finish, but I think they look the part. Both: 8

Both look very nice with good decent chipping. Extended flaps get a bonus. They tended to drop because the hydraulic pressure fell off after a while when parked or when the system was released. This is seen less often on N1K2-Js since they were usually kept combat-ready all the time. With the engine running it took too long to build up pressure. The flap was one continuous airfoil with no demarkation line. Therefore the hidden part was also painted topside green.
I think the 1/48 is the better model and gets an 8.0.
